X-Mas Marks the Spot!

As the calendar year winds down, you may be thinking of new ways of looking for prospects and maybe even jump-starting your New Year sales resolutions.

There are many ideas for marketing that you can implement right now to ensure a happy holiday and prepare for things to come.

We’ve discussed ways to prospect in the past. One of the best and simplest ways to get your message out there is to advertise in a way that won’t break the bank.

Everybody gets those local newspapers wrapped in plastic tossed on your driveway or stuck in your mailbox. Maybe you never realized that this is an excellent, cost-effective method of advertising for new prospects.

Here’s what you can do! Call your local newspaper office and ask to purchase an ad on a weekly basis. Place your ad under sales help wanted or income opportunity. You don’t need to be too technical; you just need a generic ad that will attract a broad spectrum of new prospects.

Here’s an example of a generic ad…

NEW EXCITING MONEY MAKING OPPORTUNITY
EARN UP TO $10,000 PER MONTH WORKING PART TIME FROM HOME
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY
CALL FOR FREE DETAILS

I’ve had very positive results with this ad. Don’t forget to give your contact information!

When you receive calls on your ad, you can do any, or all, of the following.

  • Direct them to your company website.
  • Get their address and mailing information to mail your written material on your business opportunity to them and don’t forget to add them to your database.
  • Make your presentation over the phone and close the sale.

There are 50 United States and thousands of local community newspapers available to you.  Usually there is a very nominal cost. If you chose to run an ad in fifty newspapers, a hundred papers, or even a thousand papers every week, you could be generating hundreds or thousands of prospect leads. As we all know, in sales, leads are key critical to the success of your business.

As you celebrate the holidays this month, keep in mind that although most of us are concentrating on family, gift giving, visiting and traveling, don’t lose sight of the goals you’ve set for your business. There is no “bad” time of the year for sales. Someone is always looking for an opportunity. It’s your job to be available with the right option.

My family and I wish you and yours happiness and joy in this holiday season.
